The BBB has just learned of a new entry in the playbook of Nigerian scams. E-mails are being sent, supposedly from Federal Express, notifying people that their Fed Ex package is being held for a “Security Keeping Fee.” The ransom for the package is only $170 USD. The demand even comes with its own security code words and a photo of the package being held hostage.

Needless to say, Federal Express does not charge a “Security Keeping Fee” and packages are not delayed in Nigeria until additional fees are paid.

The entire message is listed below for your information and amusement.
